Genshin Impact 7.2, titled “Hour of Ruin”, went live on 4 November 2026. It brings the biggest gathering in the story so far, with all seven nations meeting in Snezhnaya, along with a new eastern region and two new Electro characters. 1. The seven nations unite in the Archon Quest
As the Nails of Retribution grow more unstable, pillars of light appear across Teyvat and set off what the game calls the Holy Soil phenomenon. The Tsaritsa summons representatives from all seven nations to Snezhnaya. Players team up with the Archons, Neuvillette and other allies to contain the crisis.
2. Free Primogems for finishing the story
Completing the Archon Quest within the set period gives 560 Primogems and Character Ascension Materials for Mitya. The new Secret Tsarist Assignments award extras, including a Snezhnaya-themed Wind Glider.
3. A new region in eastern Snezhnaya
Players take a railway to Novokitezhgrad, an underground city encased in Kresnik Kristall and Snezhnaya’s main producer of the material. Further east is Wingspan Peak, shaped like a giant wing, where players can find Old Kitezhgrad, Snezhnaya’s first city, founded by the Belyi Tsar.
4. New exploration tools
To deal with the contaminated Kresnik Kristall deposits left by Ronova’s Holy Soil, players use new Prime Ice Constructs and two elemental shotguns.
5. A new ocean boss
HoYoverse describes “a colossal creature from the ocean depths” waiting for challengers in Novokitezhgrad.
6. Mitya: 5-star Electro Catalyst
Mitya, a scientist who defies the Heavenly Principles, converts the team’s Superconduct reactions into Stellar-Conduct and boosts the whole party’s Stellar-Conduct damage. Tapping his Elemental Skill releases stored energy as periodic damage. Holding it triggers a rapid flurry of enhanced Charged Attacks, so he can play either off-field or on-field. In parts of Snezhnaya, his detection device also reveals hidden paths and a reward that changes his appearance.
7. Valeriy: 4-star Electro Sword
Valeriy is a Major of the Armory Palace who provides shields and boosts Electro damage, especially for Stellar-Conduct teams. That makes him a natural partner for Mitya.
8. Banner line-up
- Phase 1: Mitya and Valeriy debut alongside a Furina rerun.
- Phase 2: Zibai and Linnea return, plus a new Chronicled Wish featuring certain Natlan characters.
9. A free 4-star character from the main event
The limited-time event unlocks as you progress through the Archon Quest, or you can start it straight away with Quick Start. Players rescue wounded soldiers, relay intelligence and carry out urgent tasks. Rewards include Primogems, enhancement materials and a 4-star character of your choice. There is also a filming event in Snezhnaya and a mining challenge in Natlan.
10. Miliastra Wonderland gets a masquerade lobby
Genshin’s user-created mode adds a masquerade-themed lobby, a free 4-star cosmetic set and more components and assets for stage editing.

Genshin Impact 7.2 is available on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Android and iOS, with cross-progression and co-op. HoYoverse says the game is rated T for Teen by the ESRB on PS5, Xbox, PC and Google Play, and 12+ on the iOS App Store.

Snezhnaya has been the focus of the main story for several versions, and 7.2 brings every nation into it at once, which feels like a build-up to a major climax.
