The goplay 11 app gets a lot of searches from cricket fans, but solid information about it is hard to find. Most pages that mention it are download sites, not neutral reviews. Here we set out what is publicly known, what isn’t, and how the app’s fantasy cricket format works, so you can make up your own mind.

GoPlays11 is an independent news and information site. We are not the GoPlay11 app, we are not linked to its operators, and we do not host or distribute any APK files.

What is the GoPlay 11 app?

Across the sites that describe it, GoPlay 11 (also written GoPlay11 or just GoPlay) is a fantasy cricket app for Android phones. The basic idea is the same as other fantasy sports platforms. Before a real match starts, you build a virtual team of eleven players from both squads, within a credit budget. Once the match begins, your team earns points based on what those players actually do on the field.

Here is what we could and could not confirm in our research in November 2026:

  • Distribution: Third-party guides consistently describe it as an Android APK that is not listed on Google Play. We found no Play Store listing for the fantasy app.
  • Developer: We could not find a publicly named company, registered address or GST number for the operator.
  • Official website: Several websites with similar names claim to be official. We could not verify which, if any, is.
  • Ratings, downloads and payouts: No independent, verifiable figures exist, so we don’t quote any.

How the fantasy cricket format works

Whatever the branding, fantasy cricket apps tend to follow a familiar pattern:

1. Pick a match

The app lists upcoming fixtures, such as international series, the IPL and other T20 leagues. You choose the match you want to play.

2. Build your eleven

You pick wicketkeepers, batters, all-rounders and bowlers within a set budget. There’s usually a limit on how many players you can take from one side.

3. Choose captain and vice-captain

Your captain’s points are multiplied, usually by 2x, and your vice-captain’s by a smaller factor. That makes these the most important picks you’ll make. Always check the exact multipliers inside the app you’re using, because they differ between platforms.

4. Follow the live points

Runs, boundaries, wickets, catches and run-outs all add points as the match goes on. You can learn more about building a balanced side in our GoPlay11 fantasy app guide.

Things to look for in any fantasy cricket app

We can’t verify GoPlay 11’s specific features, so here are the general signs of a trustworthy fantasy sports app:

  • A published points system you can read before you join.
  • A named company with a registered address and a grievance officer.
  • A clear privacy policy explaining what data is collected.
  • Sensible permissions: no access to SMS, contacts or call logs.
  • Age checks, because fantasy platforms are meant for adults.

The legal position in India

Many fantasy apps used to be built around paid contests. That model has changed in India. Since 1 May 2026, any online game where you pay to play in the hope of winning money is banned, and that includes fantasy sports. Free-to-play fantasy games, with no entry fee and no cash prize, are still allowed. If you come across any app still offering paid fantasy contests to Indian users, keep this in mind.

Responsible gaming

Fantasy sports should be a bit of fun around a match you already enjoy, not a way to make money. Set a time limit, take breaks, and never chase losses. If gaming has stopped being enjoyable, talk to someone you trust or a qualified counsellor.

Our take

As a fantasy cricket concept, the GoPlay 11 app is familiar and easy to understand. What’s missing is transparency: there’s no verified developer, no store listing and no independent reviews. If those matter to you, and they should, it’s worth reading our look at whether GoPlay11 is safe and legit before you decide anything.

GoPlay 11 login: how sign-in is described, and what to watch

Pages promoting the app describe a mobile-number sign-in with an OTP, followed by a profile and KYC step. That’s the standard pattern for fantasy apps, but a few safety points matter more when the operator is unknown:

  • Never share an OTP with “support”. An OTP is only for the screen you are on. Anyone asking for it on WhatsApp or Telegram is trying to take over an account.
  • Think twice about KYC uploads. Sending Aadhaar or PAN images to a company you can’t identify puts your identity documents in unknown hands. Legitimate free-to-play games don’t need them.
  • Use a unique password. If the app offers a password, don’t reuse your email or banking password.
  • Look for a real privacy policy. It should name a company, explain what data is stored and give a grievance contact. We couldn’t find one for GoPlay 11.

GoPlay 11 vs other fantasy cricket formats

Most fantasy cricket apps use the same basic rules. Knowing them helps you judge any app, and makes free leagues more fun:

  • Team size: 11 players, usually with at least one wicketkeeper, three batters, three bowlers and one all-rounder, and no more than seven from one team.
  • Credits: a budget of about 100 credits, with star players costing more.
  • Captain and vice-captain: usually 2x and 1.5x points.
  • Points: runs, boundaries, wickets, catches, run-outs and strike-rate or economy bonuses. Our GoPlay11 cricket points guide covers the details.
  • Lock time: teams usually lock at the scheduled start, so last-minute changes after the toss matter.

Legal status of the GoPlay 11 app in 2026

The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 split online games into three groups: e-sports, online social games and online money games. Any game where you pay or stake money hoping to win more counts as an online money game, whether it involves skill or chance, and is banned. The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Rules, 2026, notified on 22 April 2026, brought the system into force on 1 May 2026. They also set up the Online Gaming Authority of India (OGAI) to decide which games count as money games and to register social games and e-sports.

For the GoPlay 11 app, that means:

  • A free version, with no entry fees and no cash prizes, would fall into the social game category.
  • A version taking paid entries from Indian users is an online money game and is illegal to offer, advertise or process payments for.
  • Players aren’t the main target of the penalties, but they bear the risk. Payments can be blocked, websites can be taken down and deposits may not come back.

Our upcoming explainer, Is GoPlay11 legal in India?, goes through the Act and the Rules section by section.

Pros and cons, based on public information

Possible positivesConcerns
A familiar fantasy cricket formatNo identifiable operator
A light app, reportedly 17–25 MBNo app-store review or listing
Cricket-focused match coveragePromotion of paid contests that are now illegal
Several look-alike apps and sites using the same name
Unverified payout claims and mixed user reports

Who should avoid the GoPlay 11 app

Anyone under 18, anyone who has struggled with gambling or money stress, and anyone hoping to “earn” from fantasy sport should stay away from paid contests on any unregistered app. If gaming is affecting your money or your mood, talk to someone you trust. How to judge any fantasy cricket app in five minutes

You don’t need to be a security expert to separate a trustworthy fantasy platform from a risky one. Before you sign up for GoPlay 11 or any similar app, run through these five checks:

  1. Where is it listed? An app on Google Play or the App Store has at least passed a basic review and has a public developer page. An APK-only app hasn’t.
  2. Who runs it? Scroll to the footer and open the privacy policy and terms. Look for a registered company name, a full postal address and a named grievance officer. A Telegram link isn’t an operator.
  3. Is it registered? Under the 2026 Rules, online social games and e-sports can be registered with the Online Gaming Authority of India. Registration is a positive sign. A paid-contest app can’t legally get one.
  4. What does it want from you? A free fantasy game should need little more than a username. Requests for Aadhaar, PAN, UPI details or SMS access before you’ve even played are a warning.
  5. What do independent users say? Look for reviews on forums and app stores, not on the app’s own website or on pages that earn a referral fee.

GoPlay 11 fails most of these checks today. It isn’t on an official store, its operator isn’t identified and its promotion centres on paid contests. That doesn’t prove bad intent, but it does mean you’d be trusting it blind.

What changed for GoPlay 11 users after May 2026

Before the 2026 Rules came into force, fantasy apps operated in a legal grey zone that varied from state to state. Now there’s one national rule, and payment channels are closing. Users of unregistered apps have reported failed UPI payments, sudden website changes and new “mirror” domains appearing. Expect more of this. If an app keeps changing its web address or asks you to install a fresh APK to keep playing, treat it as a sign the service is trying to stay ahead of blocking orders.
