Group A: FURIA and The MongolZ qualify

FURIA arrived in Beijing straight from their PGL Masters Bucharest title. According to Pley.gg, they reached their hotel at 2 a.m. and played on about four hours of sleep. They still beat FaZe 2-1, despite losing Ancient 13-11 after leading 10-2. Then they won a rematch of their Bucharest clash with NAVI 2-1 (12-16 Ancient, 16-12 Nuke, 13-10 Cache) to book a playoff place.

The MongolZ came from a map down to beat Legacy 2-1. They then edged HEROIC 2-0, with the second map ending 19-17 on Nuke. FURIA and The MongolZ meet in the Group A upper final, and the winner goes straight to the semifinals.

In the lower bracket, Team Falcons knocked out FaZe 2-1. esports.gg noted it was the first time karrigan had faced his former team. B8 beat Legacy 2-1 to send home the side that pulled off upsets at the Esports World Cup earlier this year.

Why it matters

IEM Beijing is one of the last big events before the Singapore Major, and the winner also earns a point in ESL’s Grand Slam race. FURIA are chasing a third straight title, NAVI and Falcons are fighting for a playoff spot, and MOUZ look like the side to beat. The next big event, BLAST Rivals Fall 2026, starts in Hong Kong on 11 November.
