Illustration of a shadowy witch circle and glowing fate threads for Path of Exile 3.30 Covens of Umbra

Path of Exile 3.30, titled Covens of Umbra, is due on Friday 13 November 2026, and Grinding Gear Games used Exilecon 2026 to outline one of the biggest endgame shake-ups in recent leagues. PCGamesN’s Exilecon report covers the new witch-themed league, Mirage going core, a loot rework, and Threads of Creation replacing Scarabs. Output Lag separately confirms the Scarab replacement and Atlas-tree baseline juicing. Here is a clear rundown for Indian PC players watching the free ARPG ahead of next week’s launch.

Path of Exile 3.30 Covens of Umbra: launch date and headline changes

According to PCGamesN, Path of Exile 3.30 launches on 13 November 2026 on Steam and the Grinding Gear Games launcher. Game Director Jonathan Rogers described the patch as a far-reaching endgame transformation that touches most core league systems, while Path of Exile 2 continues toward its own 1.0 launch in December. Both games will keep running seasonal leagues in parallel.

  • League theme: a centuries-old conflict between the Witches of Umbra
  • Core mechanic: Mirage from 3.28 becomes a permanent map feature
  • Loot: less quantity spam, more valuable ground and boss rewards
  • Map juice: Threads of Creation replace Scarabs

Covens of Umbra league loop

PCGamesN reports that witchy rites appear from the opening areas. Clearing them lets you steal power and stack “fates” that raise the challenge and rewards of major boss fights. Later areas can hold four or five fates, and you can combine up to three for a single fight, with combo effects when conditions line up. Stacking duplicate fates dramatically boosts their effects.

The Wickerman is the other pillar. Bind your character’s soul to it, then farm trophies from fate-enhanced enemies (limbs and other grisly drops) to empower head, body, arm and leg slots across three rarity tiers. Grim Fates are special pinnacle-boss variants stored on the Wickerman for later use. Campaign layouts were adjusted so major bosses are harder to miss, and more than two dozen new additions cover zones that lacked a boss. Once you are strong enough, you take on the Coven Queen herself.

Atlas, Threads of Creation and cross-mechanic chaos

The Atlas map now uses coloured regions that stack mechanics as you clear maps in a zone. Threads of Creation drop for Abyss, Blight, Legion, Breach, Incursion, Betrayal, Bestiary, Expedition, Ultimatum and Ritual. Slot them in the map device (up to eight, and later three mechanics at once). Scarab-style power moves onto a refreshed Atlas passive tree as a baseline, with Threads adding jackpot-style outcomes on top. Output Lag notes that Atlas quest progress unlocks the three Thread slots, and that loadouts persist so you are not rebuilding juice every map.

Rogers told PCGamesN that league mechanics will cross over more often: Tormented Spirits burying Expeditions, Blight-infected Strongboxes, Mercenaries near Abyss pits, and many more pairings. Mirage will cover whole maps it affects, roughly more than doubling the explorable area. Beyond, Harvest, Settlers, Delve, Heist and Sanctum also get quality-of-life or spawn changes in the same patch. Full numerical patch notes were not shown during the Exilecon keynote.

What Indian Steam players should prepare

Indian players on Steam should expect the usual free league download on launch day. Clear disk space ahead of the patch, and treat PCGamesN plus Output Lag as the best one-page summaries until official notes land—especially for Mirage-as-core and the Threads of Creation map-device flow. Why it matters

For Path of Exile players in India, 3.30 is a free end-of-year league with a clear date and a rare amount of endgame redesign in one update. If you bounced off Scarab planning or stale ground loot, the Threads system and Mirage-as-core are the two changes to watch first. GoPlays11 will keep covering big PC RPG launches alongside stories like our recent Elder Scrolls 6 Sentinel explainer and other titles in the PC Gaming category.
